How a USSOR rate becomes your billing rate
A railway tender is quoted per schedule. Schedules made of USSOR items (A1, A2 and so on) take one percentage above, below or at par on the schedule's value. Items not in any schedule of rates sit in B schedules and take a unit rate each. Every item in an A schedule is then billed at its USSOR rate adjusted by the percentage quoted for that schedule.

Measurements against USSOR item numbers
Measurements are recorded under the same schedule and item number the agreement uses, with count and dimensions, so the bill and the department's measurement book line up item for item.
If the department has already recorded measurements, the railway measurement book PDF can be imported into the bill. Quantities brought forward from earlier MBs are checked against what earlier bills already claimed.
