Questions
What is recorded in a measurement book?
Each measurement of work done: the date, the agreement item number, where it was measured, the count and dimensions, and the quantity they give. The bill is a summary of these entries.
How is the quantity worked out?
Number × length × breadth × depth, leaving out any dimension that does not apply. For an area, leave depth blank; for a running length, leave breadth and depth blank.
What does the Abstract sheet do?
Type an item number and it adds every measurement of that item, so the total can go straight into the RA bill.
Can steel be measured in this format?
Steel is billed by weight, so use the bar bending schedule format, which works out the weight from the diameter and length.
